Possibly the procedure

QUESTION: Hello,

I believe it has something to do with the procedure. I’m 20 years old and had kidney stone and it was removed with a laser.

I did as well had a stent in and every since they took the stent out my vagina has been burning and itching and in pain. It’s been 5 months and it still hasn’t gone away....

ANSWER: Hello my dear,

I understand your concern.

Usually when running such interventions, urinary catheter is inserted inside your ureters to collect the urine.

This procedure is associated with irritability of the local mucosa.

This explains why you feel it itchy or some pain.

I advise to:
- drink plenty of fluids especially plain water
- take urinary antiseptics containing uva-ursi, cranberry, etc.

These measures will help stabilize pH of urine and easing the irritability.

Wish fast recovery. Let me know if you have any other concern.
