by Sunil Patel
QUESTION: Sir,
I like your website and it has lot of information...I am measuring my blood sugar level since last 4 days: fasting and 2 hrs after breakfast. Following are the values noted..
1. fasting 104 after breakfast-104
2. fasting 108 after breakfast-110
3. fasting 109 after breakfast-108
4. fasting 114 after breakfast-112
In diner I took mango juice all 4 days with dinner(Indian meals)
I want to know why my fasting blood sugar is high?? Is it because of mango?? as my after breakfast level is normal i think...
Kindly advise...
Thanks and regards.
ANSWER: Hi,
To me your fasting blood sugar levels seem to be normal (perfect). It is true that what you eat for dinner will affect your morning blood sugar. However, there is a tendency to get higher
blood glucose levels (diabetes) in the future.
That's why you need to observe what's causing you
high morning blood sugar. So, if you thing mango (perhaps), just stop eating mango for dinner (1 week) and see what's happening to your fasting blood sugar.
If you seen mango doesn't affect, then see what you have for dinner and if your doubts are on certain foods, just stop eating them (for 1 week) and see what happens to your blood glucose.
Stress, alcohol, tobacco can affect and cause elevated fasting blood sugar levels; so take your precautions.
Take care!
