Pre-diabetic Glucose Monitoring
by Pat
CONCERN: I am having this problem, high morning blood glucose readings, also. I have been classified as a pre-diabetic for many years.
I am 69 years old. I have just recently started checking my
blood glucose levels, when I was able to obtain a free meter and strips.
Otherwise, that is an expensive venture, unless you have been officially diagnosed as a diabetic.
For example, last night just before I went to bed, my blood glucose was 107. After that I had about six ounces of milk. In the morning, my reading was 122.
I am finding all of this very frustrating.
Thanks for any insight.
SUGGESTIONS: Hi Pat,
As I see from your morning blood glucose levels, I don't think 122 is high. It is borderline high, tenting to raise up, but not high. That's why your doctors have classified you as a "
pre-diabetic ".
Pat, you should take into account your age. 69 years is the age when "elderly" problems come out. So, to me, you must consider yourself lucky with these blood sugar readings.
Just follow a healthy life and diet, and you'll be away from health problems even for much more long time.
Take care!
