QUESTION: I am Diabetic and my Fasting Sugar Level is 137 and Post Prandial is 140. I am taking Pioz M twice a day.
ANSWER: There can be many explainations to your concern:
1. You should set your target for the
acceptable blood sugar levels. Diabetics should set their own targets according to their health conditions (refer to
ADA guidelines 2011). Talk to your doctor to set your upper and lower level for blood glucose.
But, before, you should record your blood sugar level readings in a log sheet or
chart and give to your doctor, in order to set the right target.
To my opinion, this is the best thing you can do right know as long as you are not having hypoglycemia or any other problem.
After some time, when your
fasting blood glucose will be lower, you can set other targets.
2. Do not rely only on your Pioz drug (the brand name for Metformin + Pioglitazone); but continue with your
lifestyle and
diet changes to get positive results.
All the best!
