Diabetic Blood Sugar Levels to Diagnose Diabetes

CONCERN: Sir,

My Sugar level test are as below:

Fasting - 112, PP - 109. As the lab report the nornal level indicated for fasting is below 110 and for PP is below 140.

As my fasting level (112) is above the normal level,i want to know whether i am a diebetic patient or not?

ANSWER: According to your blood sugar levels results, they seem perfectly normal. To me, as the results show, you don't have any diabetes problems (unless you have some symptoms or other issues, we are not aware of).

Regarding the glucose level of 112 instead of 110, you see yourself that this difference is so small. Therefore, if you want to be sure you have diabetes or not, you can repeat the fasting blood sugar test for three consequtive months, and also measure your A1C levels.

Keep in contact with your doctor as he/she knows better your health profile (we may miss something as we do not have your medical records). Please take our answer for knowledge purposes only and not as a substitute for your doctor's advice.

My Doubt on Safe Blood Sugar Levels
by: Anonymous

Thank u 4 the reply. I will be repeating the test in two weeks time after proper diet control.

If one is diabetic, will they one or both the results (Fasting & PP) be higher than the normal values?

Diabetic Levels of Blood Glucose
by: Alba

Yes, in case you will have high fasting blood sugar and increased A1C, that means you are diabetic. I commend you for the lifestyle and diet changes you are undertaking to beat or/and prevent diabetes. Good luck!
