Diabetes blood-sugar level & job opportunities

CONCERN: I am a 63 year old retired police officer. I am 5' 205.I typically run in the high 7 range for my blood sugar.
I have blood pressure that is consistently 125/85, cholesterol at 175,passed a very recent stress test.
I have lifted weights for over 40 years and am now in a maintenance program. The last few months, I drank beer and started eating a lot of ice cream. My blood sugar went up to 9.3.
Approximately 3 weeks ago, I quit the beer and ice cream, started running and continued weight lifting and got back to grilled fish and chicken and a lot of vegetables and fruit.
I have lost 12 pounds. I took a physical and passed but my blood sugar was 9.0 I am applying for another job and want to know is this will poison my chances?
SUGGESTIONS: You have just started your regime to lower blood sugar levels (3 weeks now). Congrats for lowering them from 9.3 to 9.0 within such short period of time.
You need to continue your good job at
controlling diabetes and I'm sure you will succeed. Do not be down because you still have high blood sugar levels, because it will take some time before putting them on a previous balance.
One more thing, although blood sugar must be balanced, there are some "
acceptable blood glucose levels " settled for diabetics that are considered as normal. Talk to your doc for yours.
You can have another job, but remember that you need to have 5 meals per day and try to find a job that not requires energy as your blood sugar is not balanced yet.
All the best!
