Class 2 diabetic

QUESTION: Was classified class 2 after having triple by-pass surgery, which everyone said is always out of sorts with that type of surgery. Anyway, i have to test myself twice a day.

My readings in the morning range from 90 to 103, and before evening supper between 85, and 96. I had surgery 1 month ago. am i considered diabetic or not?

I have to do this 1 more month before reporting to the sugar doctor.

ANSWER: Hi there,

First of all, I wish you a fast recovery and hope everything will be fine after your surgery.

As I see from your readings, your levels of blood sugar are not considered high enough to be classified as a diabetic.

However, I suggest to follow what your doctor has advised you. Build up your own blood sugar level log and register all the figures you measured, in order to show to your sugar doctor (called "endocrinologist").

Once he has your registered blood sugar levels, he will judge if you really are classified at a class 2 diabetes or not.

Hope you had your answer. Good recovery!
