Are there any new diabetes diagnosing tests?
QUESTION: Is diabetes diagnosed only by blood sugar measuring? Is it a must to have the symptoms? When running the test, is there any ethical issue for that?
Is there any new method to do the diabetes test, like not piching ones self? Thank you.
AnswerHi there,
You have to know
diabetes is very dangerous condition and a lot of people are working hard to find a way to
cure diabetes.
However, researches on how can diabetes be diagnosed are not made, because the modern medicine is relied on several very effective and accurate tests, which can confirm or exclude diabetes as a diagnose.
For you information, there are basically four tests, which are used in purpose to diagnose diabetes; known as FPGT, OGTT, RPGT and PPGT.
During the Fasting Plasma Glucose Test (FPGT), you are not supposed to eat for at least 8 hours as morning blood sample is drawn early morning to measure glucose concentration.
During the Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT), the doctor is taking blood sample from you 45 min after the consumption of 70 g of glucose. Before this test, you are obligated to avoid eating for at least 8 hours.
After the 2nd and 3rd hour after consuming the sugary juice, a blood sample is taken. This test is very important, because it shows how your organism is able to metabolize the glucose.
The Random Plasma Glucose Test (RPGT) is very simple. While you have your visit at the doctor, you are suppose to give blood sample. This test doesn’t require avoiding meals for 8 hours or something else.
The last test, which is known as Post Prandial Blood Glucose Test (PPBGT), the doctors are taking blood from you exactly 2 hours after having a meal.
As you can see by yourself, these tests are simple, easy to access and at the same time not so expensive.
These facts, along with their accuracy are making them very effective, which leads to the no need of ne test with which diabetes can be diagnosed so far.
Hope it helped!
